We are always grateful for donations of cash or books. Cash gifts may be allocated to a specific purpose, if desired. Donated books will be evaluated to see if they can be used in our libraries. If not, they are given to the Friends of the Library for use in their book sale. (See Gifts and Donations Policies.)
Honor with Books Program
“Books are the legacies that great genius leaves to mankind which are delivered down from generation to generation as presents to the posterity of those who are yet unborn.”
- Joseph Addison
What is the Honor with Books Program?
Honor with Books is Natchez Adams Wilkinson Library Service gift giving program offering a distinctive way to remember and celebrate important people or events in your life.
While honoring the memory of a loved one or recognizing a birthday, anniversary, graduation, retirement, or other special occasion, your gift also helps the Library build its book collection. A gift that can be opened again and again, your contribution will provide countless hours of enjoyment and enrich the lives of the community.
How can I Honor with Books?
Tell us the name of the person you wish to honor and the occasion, and enclose your check payable to NAWLS.
Select the subject area of the book you would like us to purchase—or you may suggest a specific title.
What will I receive from the Library?
We will send you a card of thanks, which can be used as a tax receipt for your deductible donation.
A distinctive bookplate listing the name(s) of the donor(s) and the person being honored will be placed in the book(s) you select.
Your name and the name of the person you have honored will appear in the Message of Thanks to Donors on our website.
What will the person being honored receive from the Library?
We will send an Honor with Books card acknowledging your gift to the person being honored or recognized. If it is a memorial gift, we will send the card to the immediate family.
We will indicate the book selected but will not disclose the amount of your donation.
