Our libraries are full of fun for kids!

Children's Section

Kids in preschool and elementary school have their own space in the library on the second floor. There is even a special section just for the little ones, who are being read to or who are just learning to read. (Older kids/teens have their own space and their own page.)

Of course, we have books for children: fiction, nonfiction, biographies, and a reference section. We also have some videos, CDs, and tapes for children. There is even a children's version of our catalog. There's a catalog computer just for kids in the Children's section of your Library. Or you can access it online by going to the card catalog and clicking on the Children's Card Catalog at the bottom left.

Be sure to check out our special children's computers - especially designed for little ones.

Get help for kids with their homework, tests, and other school work.

We have a page of kid friendly websites.

Our Celebrity Read posters, with local "celebrities", encourage kids to read.

Our most popular program is the Summer Library Program.

Every April we celebrate National Poetry Month with a children's Poetry Contest.

We have all sorts of other programs and activities just to make your Library a fun place for kids.

We love having kids in the Library, but we do ask that children 7 and younger be attended by a parent or other adult.
